Episode Context

This episode follows the prequel installment 'Summer in Dongning Prefecture: Part 3,' which explored Meng Chuan and Liu Qiyue's emotional bond and her Phoenix-bloodline origins in an earlier time period. Episode 1 shifts the narrative back to the present-day main plot, reestablishing Meng's return to Dongning Prefecture and reigniting the season's central demon conflict with threats tied to Xue Ku and the demon Qianqu. It functions as the true launch point for Season 3's main arc, setting the tension and personal stakes that will carry forward.
