EPISODE REVIEWS

In this final episode, Momo and Yuko delve into Mikan's heart to help her release the evil within her. It is a deeply emotional episode in which our protagonists must grapple with feelings of attachment and come to understand that some things are not easily let go, as they are an integral part of one's very being. While the episode is good, it doesn't quite have the same profound impact as other season finales I have seen in this genre.

This season ends with plenty of mysteries still unsolved, but that's part of the fun. We still don't know the truth about Yuuko's father, her ancestors, or Momo's sister. This episode focuses on Mikan, as everyone comes together to help her through her biggest challenge. It's a heartfelt finale filled with friendship, and it leaves me excited for the next season.

At first, it feels like a fantasy story set to unravel a mystery. The characters contrasting personalities are also developed very well. Their relationships grow stronger, underpinned by their emotional depth. The little clues that pop up draw us in and encourage us to investigate the conflicts at hand. The humour always hits at just the right moment! The shifts between panic and determination are well balanced. There are a few emotional scenes too, which help give the story a dense, solid narrative. Watching it is actually quite therapeutic.
