This ep is a total breather but lowkey essential for the vibes. Sharing a drink might seem small, but that future promise makes things feel official. It is peak character growth because Kyotaro is finally starting to back himself since Yamada sees the vision. Wholesome and chill.

this one feels more like a breather, still good but not as strong. it focuses more on smaller interactions again. not bad, just not something that stands out much 😐

Top-tier, entry in the entire series. It’s appealing because it pays off the "character study" aspect of the show. It proves that this isn't just a romance—it’s a story about a boy learning to like himself because of the girl who saw the good in him.

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 8's pivotal moment that meaningfully deepened the bond between Ichikawa and Yamada, Episode 9 introduces external friction, a necessary complication at the two-thirds mark of a 13-episode season. This installment shifts focus to the real-world consequences of Yamada's rising popularity, grounding the relationship in challenges beyond their personal dynamic. It serves as critical setup for the final stretch, establishing the obstacles both characters will need to navigate together heading into the season's climax.
