Yamada going full jealous mode over that magazine was the highlight. Seeing her pouty proves she is down bad. Kyotaro panicking is pure gold. Seeing her fam makes her so relatable. They are lowkey twins in vibes despite the social gap. This ep hits soft and makes you grin.

Essential because it moves the relationship into the "real world." It’s appealing because it humanizes Yamada through the eyes of her family, proving that she and Ichikawa are much more alike than their social statuses suggest.

Episode Context

Positioned early in Season 2 at episode 3 of 13, this follows 'I'm Growing Up' and its focus on personal development by pivoting toward interpersonal complexity, specifically the messy emotional territory between Ichikawa and Yamada. The episode deepens tensions and connections that directly feed into episode 4, 'Yamada Likes...' making it a crucial bridge from individual growth to relationship escalation in the season's first act.
