Episode Context

Coming directly after 'Beast Healer,' which deepened Erin's bond with the Ohju, this episode pivots sharply into political territory, placing Erin squarely in the crosshairs of forces larger than herself. As episode 44 of 50, the series is now in its endgame stretch, and the moral dilemmas introduced here are clearly foundational to everything that follows. The next episode, 'Caged Bird,' continues to unpack the consequences of the choices and pressures established in this installment.
