Episode Context

Sitting at roughly the one-third mark of a 50-episode series, Episode 17 marks a critical widening of the narrative lens, following Ia-lu's introduction in Episode 16, this installment weaponizes that setup by thrusting him directly into a crisis that exposes the political fault lines of the kingdom. It bridges the show's earlier character-driven foundation with the larger power struggles that will define the middle act. The fallout from the events here ripples forward, reshaping character dynamics and raising the tension for everything that follows.
