EPISODE REVIEWS

The sword forging drama feels totally unearned because we barely know these people. The dialogue is so plain and flat that it completely drains any potential stakes out of the scenes. You can turn your brain off, nothing unique is happening here.

This was probably the first episode that tried giving someone besides Alan actual emotional weight. Noelle's struggles add a bit of heart, and her determination makes her more memorable than most of the cast so far. The drama is basic, but at least it feels like the story is trying to care about its characters.

Noel's backstory makes this episode better. Got teary-eyed learning about her master. And how she reflected her bad habit of working until she passed out. Alan extracting revenge for her was so satisfying!
