Episode Context

As the first of twenty-four episodes, this premiere is pure foundation, establishing Maomao's character, her circumstances within the palace, and the political landscape that will fuel every mystery to come. No prior context is needed; this is the entry point. The deliberate setup here pays dividends across the full two-cour season as court intrigues escalate and Maomao's role evolves from overlooked servant to indispensable problem-solver.
