The Apothecary Diaries Episode 1

I love anything that is based off of ancient china. There is a level of mystery to the show. The main character also doesn't follow the damsel in distress arc. Although an unfortunate event happens to her, she doesn't dwell on it but instead just goes on with life.
A must watch for those who prefer realistic and logical characters! I won't spoil much, but what Maomao is doing is exactly the best thing to do in a cut-throat, zero-sum, gilded cage like the palace, lay low. But I guess people WILL notice if you're that talented.
I loved this episode as it really laid down the basics of the society of this anime. I especially like intelligent female leads like Maomao and a complicated character like Jinshi. The episode was the perfect setup for the lore and it is not boring.
The premiere disrupts Maomao’s ordinary life, relocating her to the imperial court and establishing the central mystery. Strong visual detail contrasts with dialogue-heavy exposition. Balanced pacing blends humor with court intrigue.
It has very engaging way of introducing each character. The visual used is very clear and pretty. In the first episode shows a dangerous vibe inside the palace and love how they highlighted Maomao's skills and intelligence. Overall it has an intriguing plot and very recommended.
anime is great but this site is a huge SCAM baiting people for a job post only to have them create an account and leave reviews for the site.
Episode 1 is very thoughtful , grounded and intelligent , it shows us how the character thinks and not only what she does. The appeal in it problem-solving, subtle character dynamics, and the atmosphere of palace life.
The episode started with some tidbits with how the world of this series works. The moment that stood out was how smart the main characters are and making you like their chemistry. After finishing the first episode, it leaves you wanting more.
Quietly intriguing from the start, I was pulled in by Maomao’s curiosity and the palace mystery. The calm pacing and subtle tension made every moment feel thoughtful, and I’m excited to see how her clever mind shakes things up.
This first episode shows how Maomao is curious and skillful apothecary who likes to uncover the truth. While also trying to stay out of trouble she tries to solve an issue like a detective.
Episode 1 is a strong and intriguing start. It introduces Maomao, a smart and unique protagonist whose knowledge of medicine and poisons makes the story instantly engaging. The palace setting feels mysterious and beautiful, and the quiet unfolding of the central mystery keeps you
Episode one was so good because you got introduced to the characters perfectly.
Great pacing for first episode. Not too fast you’re losing context but not so slow you’re losing interest. And the setting is interesting too. I’m looking forward to the next episode!
The episode opens with a daughter of an apothecary being sold off to the rear palace. Maomao tries to keep her head low, but curiosity gets the better of her. The high animation quality and paired with the great voice acting truly makes you feel as if you’re in the moment.
The first episode already makes it clear that ignorance has consequences. Maomao's role might seem small at first, but it shows how important it is to listen and act when something feels off.
This episode is surprising, Maomao voice by Aoi Yuuki is a perfect fit. Episode 1 greatly introduces maomao as a genius and eccentric apothecary. And as well the side characters and Jinshi
I love it because the plot for the first episode is understable
It's nice and it introduces the story in an interesting way
The first episode is a must as it shows the reason behind how all of this happened. And show where Maomao belongs and how she got into the palace. Maomao’s character in this episode is sneaky and really clever.
