The show does manage to seem fairly forced to me, putting yet another timer on Chise to create drama, introducing a new character suddenly to progress the story, and Cartiphilus’s monologue to explain his motive could have been done more creatively

Chise’s positive attitude, even at the worst moments, gives her the power to overcome. But trying to do everything on her own is also a bad habit of hers. Elias can see through the façade, and it is the perfect diction of the storytelling and animation that makes it interesting.
