Talentless Nana
Oshimeter
Synopsis
On a secluded island, a school for superpowered teens trains them to fight humanity's enemies. Sounds like a standard setup, right? That's exactly what Talentless Nana wants you to think. This 13-episode TV series starts with Nanao Nakajima, a kid with no powers surrounded by classmates who can control fire, read minds, or bend time. Then two transfer students show up — Nana Hiiragi, who says she can read thoughts, and the quietly observant Kyouya Onodera — and students start disappearing. What follows is less superhero academy and more a tense cat-and-mouse psychological thriller where intellect matters way more than raw power. The first episode pulls a twist that reframes everything you thought the show was about, and from there it becomes this gripping game of deception and survival where you're constantly trying to figure out who's playing who. If you liked the mind games in The Promised Neverland or the strategic scheming in Classroom of the Elite, this hits a similar nerve. And while it looks like it could be another My Hero Academia-style power fantasy on the surface, the show is genuinely interested in moral ambiguity — who the real monsters are isn't as clear-cut as anyone pretends. Studio Bridge adapted this from a shounen manga, and the suspense stays tight across all 13 episodes. Go in as blind as possible. That first episode hits different when you don't see it coming.

The only thing I didn't like with this episode is the cliffhanger as I know there will be no closure. 😭😭 Also, who would have thought that Michiru could draw such a striking conclusion based on Nana's past and help her change her opinion about the talented? Give me Season 2 please!!!!!
