Taimanin Asagi Special
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Beneath its normal surface, Tokyo is a city where demons and humans share the streets under an uneasy truce — and the only thing keeping that truce from collapsing is a group of elite female ninjas called the Taimanin. Asagi Igawa is one of the best, but she's done. She just took down her deadliest enemy, Oboro, and all she wants now is a quiet life with her boyfriend. Retirement sounds reasonable until Oboro turns up alive, kept that way by a demon pact and motivated entirely by revenge. This single-episode special is a side story to the main Taimanin Asagi series, so it drops you into a world that already has weight and history — the fragile peace, the supernatural politics, the personal stakes Asagi carries. Her younger sister Sakura, still coming up as a Taimanin, gets pulled into the conflict, which adds a layer of tension beyond just the action. The tone is dark and grounded in that specific way where martial arts and mythology get tangled together. If you've watched Taimanin Yukikaze or anything in that corner of action-heavy supernatural anime, you'll recognize the genre. It sits alongside titles like Bible Black in terms of atmosphere — adult, grim, not interested in softening anything. One episode, self-contained enough to work as an entry point, though knowing the main series gives it more context.
