Pardon the Intrusion, I'm Home!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
At 24, office worker Rinko Nakama guards her secret otaku life like a dragon guards treasure. Her apartment is her sanctuary, the one place she can binge manga and fangirl in peace. Then a hole appears in her wall. And then another one, on the other side. Suddenly she's got two male neighbors with direct access to her living space and, more critically, to the carefully hidden shelves of manga she doesn't want anyone knowing about. On one side there's Akito, a suspiciously charming guy who's way too nice and way too attentive. On the other side is Haruma, who's gruff and standoffish, and who Rinko is pretty sure she recognizes from somewhere. Without giving too much away, let's just say his connection to her favorite manga series makes things very complicated very fast. The whole setup is ridiculous in the best way. Three adults who didn't sign up for communal living trying to maintain boundaries when there are literally holes in the walls between them. The comedy lands because Rinko's constant panic about protecting her otaku identity feels genuinely relatable, that specific anxiety of keeping your nerdy side separate from your professional life. If you liked Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, this hits a similar sweet spot of adults being dorky and falling for each other. It also has some of that chaotic cohabitation energy from Love Hina, just with a more modern, shoujo-flavored spin. Tatsunoko Production is handling the animation for this 2026 TV series, adapting a web manga that already has a solid following.

That ending with the wall being boarded up felt like a punch in the gut and now everything is going to be complicated for the finale
Satsuki screaming that Rinko belongs to him while Usahar was teasing him made that whole balcony scene and it was the most candid he has ever been
Fukami needs to stay out of their business and let Satsuki write what he wants because blaming Rinko for his work getting soft is just cruel and petty
I really wasn't expecting a shouting match on the balcony to be the thing that finally made Satsuki admit he loves Rinko, but Usahar playing the villain was exactly what he needed. It sucks that Fukami is trying to ruin their fun throuple dynamic by calling the landlord or whatever because they were finally figuring things out and being cute together.
My heart sank seeing those boards nailed over the hole, because that little connection was the best part of the show and now it feels like they are being ripped apart.
I felt so happy seeing Rinko realize that Satsuki's writing was actually getting better because of her and she finally ignored that awful editor
Satsuki shouting that Rinko is his girlfriend for the whole neighborhood to hear was so good and Usahar really knew how to push his buttons to get that out of him
Fukami lady is such a nightmare and calling Rinko a witch was way too much when they were finally getting somewhere
The zombie chocolates Rinko made for Satsuki were such a weird choice but they fit the vibe of their relationship perfectly and his reaction was everything
My heart breaks for Pometa because he is such a pathetic puppy boy and Rinko just keeps being nice to him without knowing she is destroying his soul
That revelation about Satsuki being Shimizu Yuu basically kills the theory that he is the favorite author Rinko obsesses over so now everything is up in the air
Usaharu just snatched that draft and started tearing it apart and he really showed why he is a pro in the industry even if he called them diapers the whole time
That teaching session Usaharu gave was so brutal but his advice actually made their story look readable for once
The way the rookies were eating plain bean sprouts with mayo at the start made the ending feel so much better, especially with that offer from the other editor
Pometa absolutely crumbled after he saw Rinko walking with Usaharu and it was equal parts sad and hilarious because he really thinks he has no chance against a titan of the industry
I almost choked when Satsuki smashed through the wall and it was such a chaotic way to save her from a lonely night
Rinkos mother just leaving her alone with anime and cake for Christmas was so cold and I am still mad about it after seeing her cry in the kitchen as an adult
I felt so bad when Rinko called Akito a good friend on the Ferris wheel just to keep things safe. She was so scared of losing their bond and his face afterward was just so sad
Usaharu wandering around looking for limited edition pudding just because he was lonely and missed Rinko was so relatable and sad. He really is just a big baby who needs attention and snacks
You can really tell Akito is a professional writer with that script he made for their date. The way he blurred the lines between his fiction and reality was actually kind of scary and brilliant
