Hibiki going full berserk, regenerating her arm, ripping out the Nephilim's heart and annihilating it entirely is one of the most unhinged action sequences in the season and the show plays it with complete sincerity. the horror of watching Hibiki lose control is balanced by the sheer spectacle of what her berserked Symphogear can do and Tsubasa deciding to keep the truth from the others — using the berserk state as an excuse to tell Hibiki not to transform again — is exactly the kind of protective instinct that the show uses well. the fact that the Nephilim's heart isn't destroyed but harvested by Ver is the kind of twist that recontextualizes the apparent victory immediately. great episode.
