I’m not good with endings, and this one feels so sad. The cliffhanger here serves as a gateway to the next season. A bittersweet ending, I must say. The animation was on point, I can’t deny that, which made the ending feel even more melancholic.

Episode Context

As episode 24 of 24, 'My Hero' is the definitive conclusion to the Alicization season, arriving directly after the explosive confrontation with Administrator that pushed the conflict to its breaking point. It resolves the central tensions that have been escalating since Kirito first awakened in the Underworld, while deliberately setting the stage for the War of Underworld continuation. This is both a payoff episode and a bridge, expect closure on key emotional arcs but not on the larger story.
