I don’t know what happened to Alice, but whatever it was, it sure looked tough. Eugeo’s reaction upon seeing Alice was a little less emotional than I expected. He knows that something has changed. The Cathedral animation was amazing.

Episode Context

Coming off the fallout of the Taboo Index violation, episode 11 marks the transition from the Underworld's open world into the vertical gauntlet of Central Cathedral, firmly entering the season's second act at the halfway point. Kirito and Eugeo's defiance has landed them at the heart of the Axiom Church's power, and this episode establishes the rules and stakes of the ascent ahead. It directly sets the stage for 'The Sage of the Library,' where new alliances and critical revelations will begin reshaping the protagonists' understanding of the world they're trapped in.
