Sword and Fairy 4
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Barely off the forge, a pair of legendary swords become the Qionghua Sect's tools for binding the entire demon realm to steal its spiritual power. Naturally, this kicks off a massive war between humans and demons, and things go sideways fast. Su Yu is one of the disciples chosen to wield these swords, but once he sees what his sect is actually doing — sacrificing lives and stoking centuries of conflict for the sake of cultivation — he walks away. He and fellow disciple Yun Tianqin leave everything behind to find their own path, caught between a sect that wants them back and a demon realm that has every reason to want them dead. This is based on the fourth installment of the Chinese Paladin game series, and the world-building reflects that pedigree. There's an intricate cultivation and martial arts system layered over a historical fantasy setting that actually feels lived-in, not just decorative. The emotional core hits harder than you'd expect — it's not just fight scenes strung together, there's real weight behind the character decisions and relationships. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting there too. If you liked Noble Aspirations or Seven Swords for their blend of wuxia action and moral complexity, this sits right in that lane. Sparkly Key Animation Studio is handling production, and from what's been shown, the visual quality matches the ambition of the story. Worth keeping on your radar for 2027.
