Episode 25 is a solid episode. It gives us incredible character development and beautiful visuals, but the slow pacing and heavy exposition hold it back from being a top tier episode. It’s the ultimate calm before the storm. The cliffhanger is, of course, criminal, so I guess I’ll be agonizing over the wait for Episode 26 just like the rest of you!

Episode Context

Sitting one episode before the season finale, Episode 25 is structurally positioned as the culmination point, the moment where everything built across the season's prior 24 episodes is brought to a head before Episode 26 delivers the conclusion. What preceded it has shaped Jing Tian's party through escalating conflict and fantasy-world stakes, and this episode exists to make the finale's resolution feel earned. Episode 26 closes the series, so Episode 25 carries the full weight of setup and payoff simultaneously.
