I remember the first time i played this game on an emulator.. I got so excited because of the compendium of the classic mechas.. Going back on the anime itself.. The tournament got this Robot Jox vibe.. This first episode is like a dream come true to some of hoping to pilot a mecha.. Awesome character designs.. And cool opening scene..
