EPISODE REVIEWS

Things felt a lot more intense here, and I liked that the episode didn’t waste much time. It had a lot more tension, and I thought the action was handled well without making the episode feel too heavy. I also liked how the pace kept moving, so I never felt bored while watching it. This was a fun change of pace for the series.

This episode was quite chaotic as the plot was like a tournament; each and every opponent was coming up as soon as the other was cleared. The BGM conveys the retro battle in the old, classic scenes. The animation was stiffer than usual and mixed with frame-by-frame slides. That Chun Li act surprised both the slow Ryu and Ken was funny. The pacing was still slower, too.

I knew the Kowloon Palace was big but I wasn't expecting it to be the size of a small town! All the enemies that went after them to stop them were fucking useless and the hockey guys were mega lame. Even more mega lame was the owner/boss of the place. You know what's not lame, though? Chun Li showing off just a little bit in this episode. Too bad it was short lived. Looks like it's going to get even more exciting in the next one.
