EPISODE REVIEWS

The opening was a little slow, but I liked the dynamic between Ryu and Ken. I thought the contrast between their personalities was fun, and the setup kept me interested. I’d say it’s worth checking out if you enjoy slow-burn stories with interesting character dynamics.

This felt nostalgic as the popular video game has this classic, retro adaptation. Coming from the movie, the animation was stiffer in this one. Hopefully the animation will kick in smoother in the latter fighting scenes, though. As a video game fan, the voices of Ryu and Ken were most probably the same VAs from the video game with those remarkable fighting signature nuances.

That was actually a pretty cool and enjoyable first episode. We just got introduced to Ken and Ryu and I'm already liking the characters - just so much happened since the introduction. I knew it was martial arts focused but the storyline looks pretty good so far and fights are entertaining (of course). Even if the show is from 1995, and it having one seizure inducing moment, it did not stop me from enjoying it. Really looking forward to the rest of the episodes.
