Starless: 21st Century Nymphomaniacs
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Yukito, a college student, answers a job ad for a live-in servant position at a secluded mountain mansion — great pay, room and board, sounds simple enough — it is not simple. The mansion belongs to the Mamiya family, headed by the striking Marie Mamiya, and it quickly becomes clear that 'servant' here covers a lot more than dusting furniture and making beds. The household has its own rules, its own hierarchy, and expectations that nobody spelled out in the job listing. Yukito is in deep before he fully understands what he signed up for. The tone leans dark and psychologically loaded — this is less about titillation and more about power, control, and how far someone will go once they're already committed. It's adapted from a visual novel by Empress and Sei Shoujo, so there's actual narrative structure underneath everything, which keeps it more coherent than most entries in the genre. If you've seen Discipline: The Record of a Crusade or Bible Black and appreciated when hentai OVAs put effort into atmosphere and setup rather than just skipping to the point, this sits in that same space. Four episodes, Studio 9 Maiami handling the animation, 2012 release. Don't go in expecting lighthearted — the mansion has a very specific energy and the series commits to it fully.
