Still a good episode focused on Yume and Koyomi's past: how to deal with grief, how to understand adult relationships when you feel left behind. It's a really interesting one, especially because we're also introducing a bit more of Mujina's character (love her design!).

This ep is a total reality check and the Koyomi backstory is actually so relatable. We finally get the lore and character depth needed to understand his regrets and why he’s so stuck in the past.

Episode Context

Sitting at the exact midpoint of the 12-episode run, Episode 6 deepens the emotional groundwork laid by Episode 5's exploration of interpersonal connections, turning the lens inward on individual vulnerabilities. This introspective pivot is critical setup, the character revelations and unresolved tensions established here directly feed into Episode 7, where personal arcs begin converging with the larger kaiju conflict. It's the emotional fulcrum of the season, bridging the relationship-building first half with the more consequential back half.
