the dynamics here are actually really interesting 😭 some parts feel fun and light, but when it shifts to the adults it suddenly feels a bit tense. anya and damian still carry the fun side though

Franky deserves a raise and a vacation! This episode gave the side characters so much love and it made the world feel so much bigger. The inventions, the banter, the vibes and everything was just chef’s kiss.

Game-changer that fundamentally shifts the direction of the series. It’s appealing because it gives Yor a direct, crucial role in the mission, proving that her sincerity is her greatest weapon.

Melinda seems so nice, and she was so friendly to Yor, but that moment where she looked totally miserable talking about her own son really creeped me out

Yor smashing the gym floor with a volleyball had me cackling, I swear! It’s just so perfectly her to have god-tier strength but absolutely no grasp of basic sports rules, leading to her losing in the most hilarious way.

Poor Damian, my heart just went out to him when that yakisoba burger exploded right in his face; I was genuinely shocked by how messy it got. Anya really needs to quit listening to Becky's wild romance advice if she ever wants to make any progress with operation Strix.

I thought it was hilarious when Loid just completely lost it after Yor mentioned Melinda by name and his brain went into full spy mode over a volleyball game

Anya trying to use a giant yakisoba burger to win a friendship war was the most ridiculous thing ever and seeing it backfire on Damian was so painful

Anya trying to copy Yor with the friendship war is hilarious but the burger to the face was too much and poor Damian never stood a chance against that mess

I really felt for Yor when she was opening up about feeling like a total fraud as a mother and then all the high society ladies actually agreed with her. It made me realize that even the most elite families are just winging it behind closed doors and seeing Yor finally find a group where she feels like she belongs was so heartwarming.

Melinda seems nice, but that sudden mood shift makes me think she is hiding something dark. Loid is right to be suspicious about how convenient this whole meeting was because the timing is just too perfect.

loid dropping his tea when yor mentioned the name desmond was the best reaction because his face completely changed while he was trying to stay calm for the mission

Yor casually destroying a volleyball court and then apologizing is hilarious because she really thinks she is acting like a normal human being while leaving craters in the floor

That preview for the next episode looks intense and a bus hijacking was unexpected. The shift from a fun volleyball game to a crisis feels like a huge jump

Seeing the volleyball match feel like a sports anime for a second was great and Yor accidentally destroying the floor while trying to act normal was hilarious

The contrast between Yor's raw power on the court and her extreme social anxiety in the department store is great, especially since she actually found a place where she fits in

I honestly couldn't stop laughing when Anya tried the encounter bread thing with a giant yakisoba burger and just absolutely wrecked Damian. Seeing her get so competitive with Yor over who can befriend the Desmonds first is the best, but that ending preview with the bus hijacking looks so intense, and I hope everyone is okay because things got dark fast

EPISODE CONTEXT

After episode 4 dug into Loid's backstory and Anya's ongoing school struggles, this installment pivots to give Yor her own spotlight at the season's midpoint approach. It expands the Forger family's social web by introducing Melinda, a connection that could carry strategic weight for Operation Strix as the season progresses. Sitting at episode 5 of 13, this is classic mid-season character investment—building relationships and deepening Yor's role before the likely escalation in the back half.
