Spice and Wolf II Specials
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A certain wise wolf sitting around being charming for a few minutes — that's basically what this is, and honestly, if you're already a fan of Spice and Wolf, that's all you need to hear. These two short specials, bundled with the Spice and Wolf II Blu-rays, strip away the medieval economics and trade negotiations and just let Holo and Lawrence be themselves. Think of it as a cozy side conversation between two people with genuinely great chemistry, minus any real stakes or drama. The tone is light and playful. Holo gets to flex her wit, Lawrence gets to be her slightly exasperated straight man, and you get a couple of quick, warm vignettes that feel like deleted scenes from a show you already love. Brain's Base and Marvy Jack keep the animation clean and expressive, which works well for something this character-driven. If you liked Spice and Wolf for the banter between Holo and Lawrence more than the merchant storylines, this is pure distilled version of that dynamic. Fans of similar wolf-girl energy in shows like Seton Academy: Join the Pack or the playful character interactions in Okami-san and Her Seven Companions might get a kick out of it too, though this leans way more into quiet charm than comedy or action. It's two episodes, it's short, and it's basically dessert for people who wanted more time with these characters. Nothing essential, but genuinely pleasant.
