His solo expedition into an abandoned mine for quartz crystals turns dangerous when a collapse traps him — leading to a quiet epiphany about creating an “Electric Brain.” The episode’s strongest thematic beat is how both leads are essentially picking up unfinished dreams left by the previous generation (Inako’s mother, Seiroku). The sake reveal is a nice subversion of the Catalog’s supposed technological secrets, grounding one major mystery in personal family history rather than pure invention. Yosuke’s late-episode rescue and alliance proposal also feel like a natural (if slightly convenient) way to force the remaining conflict into the open. Criticisms center on timing and abruptness. With only two episodes left, some of the reveals and character motivations (especially around Saki and the sudden alliance) land more as necessary plot machinery than fully organic developments. The animation remains a reliable strength, and the dual-path structure keeps the episode engaging even when the writing feels a bit stretched.
