watching crona have to fight their own mother is so emotionally exhausting and heartbreaking. it makes sense that they needed to set this up properly, and i was so relieved when maka finally showed up to help.

dedicating the entire runtime to the protagonists simply getting beaten down by medusa severely drags the pacing. while the emotional setup for crona's familial trauma is necessary, the execution felt slightly prolonged.
