So I'm a Spider, So What?
Oshimeter
Synopsis
The day is as normal as it can be in high school as the students peacefully go about their everyday activities until an unprecedented catastrophe strikes the school, killing every person in its wake. Guided by what seems to be a miracle, a handful of students are fortunate enough to be reincarnated into another world as nobles, princes, and other kinds of people with prestigious backgrounds. One girl, however, is not so lucky. Being reborn as a spider of the weakest kind, she immediately experiences the hardships of her dire situation. Even so, she must press on to survive the numerous threats that endanger her life. Discovering that her new world has a system like that of an RPG, she tries her best to hunt prey and defeat monsters to level up and evolve. As she gradually grows stronger, she hopes one day her efforts will be rewarded, and that she will be granted a better life.

I love fantasy action slop, but i can't rate it above four stars.
The spider portion is good but others suck
The animation is different compared to manga and the pacing felt off a bit
This episode is, for me, one of the best ones. We get to learn a lot and how it all came down. It's definitely annoying that they left a cliffhanger and it's been years with no sign of Season 2, like lowkey they just want me to rip my hair off or what?
Ig Kumoko was bored enough that she's out here being a reporter, she's gonna be Barbie soon and having every kind of jobs loll also it was hilarious to see the Body of Kumoko is messing with Ariel so hard
Ughhh I need more Kumoko's screen time, I get that Shun is important for the story and all but genuinely, he's so boring... like I find Oka so much more appealing than him. Oka has depth and personality but Shun is so basic... and he's kinda pathetic...
No cause why do I feel like the elves are kinda racist lol?? Also I feel like it's hard not to notice something's off with Shun and the others if you're in Anna or the blonde guy' shoes, they literally talked about their past lives in front of them... ?
Not Kumoko fat shaming lmao?? I get why she said that and it was kinda hilarious. I'm so curious about the Admin guy, we get to see him a lot more this episode. Oka's story was really interesting as well, bc you get to see and understand her motives. The anime really has intriguing storytelling- for someone like me who has a hard time grasping lore, I'm genuinely really enjoying the story, and it's not too hard to comprehend once you figured out the timeline
Off to a great start! I mean everyone should appreciate Kumoko, even if she's terrifying but yk, she can be a cutie patootie sometimes. Moreover, I think I mentioned this one time but Kumoko's JP VA is actually really impressive. She made Kumoko so expressive and full of life, not to mention the different voices for the clones, she did such a good job throughout the anime!
In this episode, we get to see a little of Sophia's perspective! She's really interesting ngl but there was only little crumbs of her in this episode, I was hoping to see more but nooo we had to cut back to Shun ᵕ᷄≀ ̠ᵕ᷅
Honestly, I hope Shun doesn't have so many girls liking him, bc like... no he's basic af. The only expectation is Katia bc they've been each other sides the most- past and present, and just have the most chemistry. I am NOT shipping a teacher, his caretaker and a bully from past life with him lmao
Oooo we're getting more lore this episode yippee!! Besides that, I just want to talk about Fei's new design... a solid 7.5/10. The colour palette don't suit her that well. I want to way to give her justice but yk she's a bully so nah
Mother is really terrifying holy. The fact that she's so intelligent scares me a lot, cause just imagine if our animals have her brain... we're getting taken over at that point.
I'll say it again, Kumoko can be really scary when she wants to be, especially from the human's point of views. Also I did not expect her to eat... well THAT. I'm all for survival but damn?? Pop off queen I guess. Not to mention, this episode got really REALLY dark. Ngl didn't really expect to be as dark as I initially thought.
I'm so so happy Kumoko is a lot more confident with her fighting skill now! Like I'm seriously watching her growth and development, in a way it's so sweet. It's like watching your child grow ugh she's so cute
This series is so fun to watch! Though I've got to say that there’s a lot to nitpick about it. While the visuals are amazing, the heavy reliance on CGI makes it a bit frustrating to watch at times. I'm not saying the CGI is badly done—in fact, the CGI works quite amazingly here. Of course, there are instances where the CGI makes things look bad, especially with the frame dips. Story-wise, it's a blast! I am truly enjoying Kumoko's adventures. That said, the human side of the story is not as enjoyable. Take it as my bias if you want, but honestly, the human side story is MID. To be fair, there are quite a few moments where the human side is fun to watch, but overall, it's just not as exciting. Also, the timeline is super chaotic. I was completely clueless during the first few episodes, picked up some hints later on, and only fully understood the plot halfway through the series. Perhaps that's what makes this series less enjoyable to watch. Overall, I'd rate this series an 8/10.
It's kinda hilarious to see a spider fighting a whole ass dragon if you think about it, then again... Kumoko is really scary... The fight scene was great, it's definitely one of the more memorable one! As every episode goes on, I'm just getting reminded how strong Kumoko will to survive is.
There's so much lore in this episode, I'm glad we're getting to learn more! Moreover, I'm not a Jojo fan but is that a JoJo's reference? I already can't take the Kumoko's clone in charge of the body seriously and now the show gave her THAT hair??
Okayy we're off to a depressing start... But I think I'm slowly understanding the lore. I didn't imagine Kumoko's size to be like THAT though. Holy if I ever met Kumoko in real life, mf I'm running the f away. I AM NOT GOING NEAR HER. I didn't expect she's also THAT brutal, at least to humans
I think from this point on, the plot is gonna get confusing bc well, I am a little confused despite watching thid anime before. Also is that how they see Kumoko, cause it's way different than what we're used to, so like also does that mean she fought Shun's brother before in the earlier episode?? They look almost the same I think? Yeah I don't even know atp but I'll probably need to watch all the episodes for it to make sense
So I'm a Spider, So What?
