Slave Doll - Maid to Order
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Beneath the maid outfit is an android — Aki's real job is to break into a lonely man's house and collect his DNA for a corporation running some kind of genetic preservation program. That's the setup for Kowaremono, a 3-episode OVA from 2000 that blends near-future sci-fi with its erotic content in a way that's a little more thoughtful than you'd expect from the genre. Kenichi, her target, isn't some smug antagonist — he comes across as genuinely isolated, and that's where things get interesting. Aki starts picking up feelings she wasn't programmed to have, and watching an android quietly short-circuit between mission objectives and something resembling affection gives the story a small but real emotional thread to follow. The science fiction framing — corporate genetics, human-like androids integrated into everyday life — gives it a different texture than most hentai OVAs of its era. If you've seen something like La Blue Girl and wanted the premise to take itself slightly more seriously, or you enjoy Mezzo Forte-style action-adjacent storytelling with more intimate focus, this scratches a similar itch. It's not trying to be prestige anime, but the android-developing-emotions angle lands well enough that it doesn't feel disposable either. Short runtime, clear premise, and a central character worth following.
