Episode Context

Coming off Hanamichi's early struggles with basketball fundamentals, episode 11 represents a pivotal commitment to growth, he's no longer just showing up for Haruko's attention but actively grinding to earn his spot. This training arc builds the foundational skills he'll desperately need as Shohoku faces increasingly formidable rival teams in the episodes ahead. Sitting just over ten percent into the 101-episode run, this is classic groundwork storytelling that pays dividends later.
