Synopsis
Skateboarding is everything to Reki Kyan: it's the air he breathes and the reason he gets up every day. By day he's a regular high school kid in Okinawa, but at night he hits up 'S', an illegal downhill skateboarding race held deep inside an abandoned mine, where the stakes are real and the wipeouts are brutal. After a bad loss leaves him with a broken arm and a destroyed board, things aren't looking great. Then he meets Langa Hasegawa, a transfer student who's half-Canadian, half-Japanese, and has never touched a skateboard in his life. What Langa does have is years of snowboarding experience, and it turns out those skills translate in ways nobody expects. Reki builds him a board, drags him into the world of 'S,' and from there the two of them get pulled deeper into races against increasingly wild opponents, each with their own style and their own reasons for riding. The real heart of the show is the friendship between Reki and Langa, how it evolves under pressure, and what happens when one friend starts outpacing the other. Studio Bones animated this, and you can tell, the race sequences are fluid, kinetic, and genuinely thrilling to watch, backed by a soundtrack that keeps the energy up without letting go. It's an original 12-episode TV series, so no source material to worry about. If you liked the competitive energy of Air Gear, the character dynamics of Yuri on Ice, or the camaraderie in Free!, this one fits right in that lane.

I'm happy Reki and Langa finally started mending their friendship. Adam needs to leave these two alone and stop stalking Langa 💀
That was such a good and sweet ending. I really like how it all tied up to what Reki said in the first episode about skateboard, which is nice. I really like how subtle Adam is about his character until now and his relationship with Tadashi. I feel the paralel between them and Reki and Langa. That ending sequence also made my heart squeal of joy. I really enjoy when anime does that, letting us see the characters. Overall a great anime and a great ending to it!
I feel so stupid, I just realized why Adam kept saying Langa is his eve all this time lol. But still, that race between Adam and Reki was insane, Reki really did pull all the stops here, and Adam had to use his signature moves too! The animation was insane, and the atmosphere during that Adam scene, made me scared for a second, which is great! Now I'm very pumped for the last episode!
No! Why did it end there?! This was such a wholesome episode, very sweet as we get to see Reki and Langa's problem comes to a head. But that aside, what happened with Shadow was definitely not on my list, and now we get another new problem as we move to the last two episode. I'm so pumped for the skating, but also scared for Reki and Langa at the same time.
We were teased from the beginning about Cherry and Joe's prowess in skateboarding, and to see it animated was really fun. I like the different between the two, one is wild, and the other is calculated. Both strong and represented themselved, in a sense. Beside that, I like how Langa slowly understanding his feelings, but at the same time Reki also does. I like the two conflicts that's going in the plot so far!
This episode is such a fun watch, as we get the thrill of the skating scenes from the tournament, but also the lingering drama from the previous episode. I really like how Reki and Langa's relationship isn't solved in one mere episode, knowing the build up was also quite long, so it's understandable. On the other side, I wouldn't thought who Snake was, that's such a treat to see a new challanger around. But I have a feeling next episode will continue from that last match, I hope both of them the best!
The scene after they got back up and immediately started beefing again while the music was playing in the background was perfect. The animation, soundtrack, characters and friendships all come together so well. Honestly, what a beautiful finale for an amazing series! Definitely would watch again
They looked so happy back then :') I'm also so glad Reki and Langa are finally back to being themselves again, I missed their interactions. Honestly that trip up was the highlight lol serves him right. Reki was sooo close but he did so good!!
The contras between this episode and the previous one is mind blowing. Applause to the writers for writing such beautiful frienship only to crush us with this episode. This was heartbreaking, and it's even sadder when we knew the seed was planted episodes ago, with small comments and passing moments. And it hurts more because it feels human of what Reki felt about Langa. This definitely set the tone for the rest of the show.
Joe really has insane strength, those muscles are no joke. It'd be nice to see those three skate together again like old times but damn didn't expect Adam to hit Cherry like that , hate him for that :/
Oh wow Tadashi can really skate and he even beats Adam's time. The mom thinking the whole issue was about a girl when it's basically the complete opposite had me laughing lol at least she tried to help.
Damn Langa has improved so much since the beginning, It's really satisfying seeing how far he's come in terms of skills. Adam's entrances are always ridiculously dramatic lol, but the way he treats his secretary is honestly so frustrating to watch :/
After such serious episode, I like that they bring us some breathing time, with the gang go on a trip. It's fun and light, seeing the group get into shenanigans. Despite the light tone, the animation still delivered during the skating scene, which was more than appreciated. And that ending promised that the next few episodes would be filled with more tension and excitement!
Seeing Chinen just enjoying himself and having fun skating honestly made me so happy. This episode was super wholesome and fun to watch!
That scream in class gave me so much second-hand embarrassment lol. Adam continues to be a creep this episode, but the way Langa dodges Adam's love hug was so clean.
It was really nice seeing Chinen finally find people he could skate and have fun with, he deserves it. Also, that fall had me wincing the whole time, that looked brutal. And Adam continues to give off the creepiest vibes imaginable.
Reki is such a good friend. I love how he's paying attention to all the little details to help build the best board possible for Langa. It's not just about skating, you can really tell how much he wants to support him, very wholesome episode.
Shadow working at a flower shop is the funniest contrast ever lol, the gap between his work life and his other side is wild. I already love Reki and Langa's friendship it's so wholesome
The animation is amazing. The opening is such a banger too, I've already got it stuck in my head. Langa looks so cool right from the start and that scene when he turns the corner actually gave me goosebumps. The energy, the visuals, the music, everything is perfect!
