Walking into Utopia Academy, Himoto Sora carries a simple goal — be a good person, stand up for others. What she finds instead is a school running a hidden game where male students literally use female classmates as weapons — summoning them into battle to climb a social hierarchy. The girls are treated as property, ranked and traded, and nobody seems to think this is worth questioning. Sora does. Through a twist of circumstances, she ends up becoming the first girl to enter the game from the other side — not as a weapon, but as someone fighting back. Her childhood friend Tsuki and other students like Koharu and Reiko get pulled into the conflict as things escalate quickly. The setup has real teeth to it — there's something genuinely uncomfortable about how normalized the system is, which makes watching it get challenged more satisfying. If you've seen Utena: Revolutionary Girl or Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, you'll recognize the DNA here — a school environment with dark power dynamics underneath, and a protagonist who refuses to play by the rules. It also carries echoes of Mai-HiME in how the girls-as-weapons concept blends emotional stakes with action. This is a 2-episode OVA, so it's a quick watch — but the premise is doing more than it initially appears, and the dynamic between Sora and the girls she's trying to protect carries genuine weight.
