Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju Episode 1: Episode 1

Slow but really engaging. It focuses more on characters than action, and the rakugo scenes feel surprisingly powerful. The story builds quietly but pulls you in. It’s more about the journey and emotions, so give it time and let it unfold. Watch if you like character-driven plot.

This opener feels like a whole movie—seriously, the rakugo performance alone pulls you in hard. Yotarō’s desperation mixed with Yakumo’s cold presence sets a strong tone. It’s slow and dialogue-heavy, but if you lock in, it’s insanely rewarding 🎭

The main character was different than I thought he'd be but I still like him. I didn't feel like it was 45 min long probably because I was so immersed with it.
