To keep her brother Ryusuke safe, Misa throws herself into the hands of a sinister organization called Kimaira — and now he has to live with that. Teaming up with Mikoto, a woman who lost her entire family to the same group, Ryusuke sets out to get Misa back. The catch is that Kimaira isn't just a gang of thugs. They have powerful entities working for them, and when one of those — a being called Byakko — shows up, Mikoto reveals she can transform into something called 'Soul Eater,' a combat form that's supposed to give her a fighting chance.
