Shoujo Senki Brain Jacker
Oshimeter
Synopsis
From the inside out, war breaks people — and that's exactly where Brain Jacker starts. Lin Kaifon is a young soldier caught in the middle of a conflict that's bigger than any single person — politically messy, emotionally brutal, and not shy about showing the psychological damage it leaves behind. The two-episode OVA follows Lin through a war-torn landscape where the bonds between comrades matter as much as survival, and where the lines between duty, sacrifice, and loss blur pretty quickly. Being based on the eroge visual novel 'Shoujo Senki Soul Eater' by Lune, it carries that dark fantasy atmosphere throughout — there's a supernatural undercurrent running beneath the military setting that keeps things from feeling like a straightforward war story. The animation leans into horror-adjacent visuals, and the soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in building tension. It's a short watch at two episodes, so it commits hard to mood and character dynamics rather than sprawling plot. If you've seen Bible Black or Discipline and appreciated how those handled dark tone and power dynamics between characters, this covers similar ground with a more war-focused framing. It's not trying to be subtle. The Schoolzone production keeps things visually distinct, and for fans of the source material or adjacent Lune titles, it hits the notes you'd expect. Go in knowing the tone is bleak and focused rather than expansive.
