This first episode was total gore and dark. The animation was smooth as it was done none other than by Madhouse. Truly a disturbing first scene and I was kind of feeling that gut-pain, literally. The eerie background music added to the gruesome plot, too. The atmosphere was highly intense as Gennosuke and Seigen entered and faced again.

First of all, it's not suitable for kids since it contains gore and blood spilled in this anime. Dark concept. It does deliver well, the scenes are so graphic they almost make you want to vomit in the early episodes. Half of the episodes contain flashbacks, but they still manage to keep us hooked with the mystery character.
