Awesome first episode! Not everything we see is what it seems to be. Ayase is sweet on the outside, but completely cold on the inside. I thought the episode was amazing because through Shouta and his first interaction with Fumika and the Shigofumi, we get to understand how this letter system works. I've always said it: you should fear the living way more than the dead. An opening that would keep anyone hooked on the plot!
Episode 1 delivers a gripping start. Crisp animation and moody lighting build atmosphere, paired with an eerie, emotive soundtrack. Quiet Fumika and her witty talking staff provide subtle comedy, hinting at solid character development before a bleak plot twist rewrites expectations.
The first episode of Shigofumi successfully delivers an incredibly strong, bold, and instantly captivating introduction.
