Shibuya♡Hachi Part 4
Oshimeter
Synopsis
At this point, Shibuya's unofficial four-legged mascot has basically become a fixture of the district, and this fourth season picks up right where you'd expect — with him causing low-stakes chaos across the neighborhood. The first couple episodes introduce Sora, a street performer who keeps trying to rehearse but can't get through a single routine without Hachi derailing everything, and Mei, a café owner who somehow ends up feeding this dog gourmet pastries on a daily basis. The comedy is built around these little everyday collisions between Hachi and the people who orbit around him, and it works because the characters genuinely feel like they belong in that neighborhood. Nippon Animation gave this a visual style that leans into Shibuya's neon-soaked energy without overdoing it — it's colorful and loose in a way that matches the tone. The whole thing runs 12 episodes and none of them overstay their welcome. If you liked the oddball neighborhood vibes of Case File no. 221: Kabukicho or the way 428: Shibuya Scramble turned a real Tokyo district into a character of its own, this hits a similar nerve but way more relaxed. There's no mystery to solve or dramatic stakes to speak of. It's just a mischievous dog and a rotating cast of city dwellers bumping into each other in ways that are genuinely funny. Good background watch, good comfort watch, good "I need something light after a heavy series" watch.
