When I compare what happened in this episode to the original source material, I can’t help but feel underwhelmed. The manga handled the story much better, especially because it stayed faithful to a certain characters’ personality. From my perspective, Komagawa’s actions in this episode made him come across as little more than a token villain. Even Hao himself felt like a more compelling antagonist. Overall, the episode felt rather lukewarm and the changes from the manga ultimately made the conflict feel less impactful.
