SHAMAN KING (2021)

The Reboot of Shaman king is a fun watch. I binged it during COVID. It paces faster than the 4Kids version and is very dedicated to the manga (for better or worse) Its still a great series that captures all the shonen marks. Friendship Training Tournaments Teamwork Arcs Yoh Asakura remains one of my favorite protagonists of all time. It's a solid shonen anime 👍🏾

Episode 1 of Shaman King (2011) kicks off with Yoh Asakura entering the Shaman Fight tournament, showcasing stunning animation, especially in the battle scenes. The new soundtrack adds intensity and emotion, perfectly complementing the action and setting a strong tone of series.

While more manga accurate than it's 2001 predecessor it's crammed several unique chapters into one episode. It's a hodgepodge of major characters with no real backstory attached to care about them. It's like they assume you already know the characters and why they're important.

Huge fan of the original manga, I was really excited when they announced the remake of the mid early 2000s anime. While the animation and story were great, the blistering pace was kind of disapointing. They tried to cram nearly all of volume 1 into a single episode. Fans onlys.
