This is the movie version of the entire Hunter Friagne Arc, and I must say that, despite its flaws, it was still an entertaining watch. The action was enjoyable, and I liked how they included some of the anime's iconic moments. I also appreciated the changes they made to fit the story into the movie's runtime. However, the pacing felt quite unnatural, and many of the character developments came across as rushed and didn't make much sense. While I enjoyed the movie overall, I still think the original arc was handled much better.

Watching this movie in 2026, it will hit you with a huge wave of nostalgia. Sakai, a normal student encountered a Flame Haze stating that he is a special target protects him along the way. Watch this if you want a shortened version of the series.

The movie perfectly condenses the Friagne arc into a tight, gorgeous experience. Seeing Yuji process the despair of being a Torch while Shana casually takes over Yukari's desk at school hits hard. The roller coaster showdown with Friagne and Marianne is absolutely spectacular!
