Servant x Service
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Frustrating, insufficient, and irritating is how most citizens would describe civil servants. However, three new employees are about to discover what really happens behind the scenes. Lucy Yamagami, bent on revenge against the civil servant who allowed her comically long name to be put on her birth certificate; Yutaka Hasebe, an easygoing guy always on the lookout for a place to slack off; and Saya Miyoshi, a nervous first-time worker, are about to experience the underwhelming satisfaction of being government employees. They are supposed to be trained by Taishi Ichimiya, but he has no idea how to do so, even though he has worked there for eight years. With an incompetent senior colleague and unfavorable confrontations with clients, the trio starts to lose faith in their chosen occupation but encourage each other to do their best.

The finale wrapped everything up perfectly 🎉 Hasebe's confession was both awkward and sweet—totally on brand for him. Everyone else's stories got nice closure too. Megumi and Taishi's secret is safe. The post-credits scene had me laughing. A satisfying end to a fun season.
The winter vacation episode was cozy ❄️ Watching everyone fail at skiing/snowboarding was hilarious. Chihaya being weirdly good at everything is on brand. Hasebe and Lucy's chairlift conversation was cute. The New Year's countdown scene had me smiling the whole time.
Tanaka bringing a pomegranate like he's in a Greek myth was so weird but funny 😂 The evening overtime scene with just Hasebe and Lucy was surprisingly sweet. The tension between them is definitely building. Also the stuffed bunny manager's life advice was oddly profound.
Hasebe's sister dropping embarrassing childhood stories was gold 😂 Finding out he used to do archery explains so much about his personality. Lucy slowly warming up to him is cute to watch. The work retreat planning chaos was very real. This show's comedic timing is on point.
Megumi's backstory was surprisingly sweet 💕 The flashback showing how she and Taishi got together was cute. Lucy stressing over what to wear for her date is so real. Hasebe's sister showing up at the office was unexpected. The misunderstanding at the end had me yelling at my screen.
Chihaya drinking beer so casually when she acts so robotic was unexpected 😅 The drinking party dynamics are always funny. Tanaka's quiet moments are actually kinda sad. Hasebe and Lucy dancing around each other is painful but cute. The stuffed bunny manager continues to be the best.
Megumi trying to dress up Lucy for her "date" was hilarious 👗 Lucy's complete lack of fashion sense is honestly relatable. The office betting pool about Hasebe's dating life is so accurate. Taishi trying to act cool and failing is peak. The stuffed bunny manager's commentary kills me every time.
The rainy season episode was cozy ☔ Lucy being terrified of thunder while trying to act tough is adorable. Hasebe teasing her about it while also helping her was sweet. The fireworks at the end were beautiful. Also Megumi's slump this episode felt very real. Workplace burnout is no joke.
The morning after reveal was NOT what I expected 😂 Hasebe's panic was hilarious. The rumor spreading through the office like wildfire is so accurate to real workplaces. Chihaya's deadpan comments about the situation killed me. Megumi and Taishi's secret is interesting.
The pink bunny section manager appearing out of nowhere caught me off guard 🐰 His voice coming from a stuffed toy is so absurd but I love it. The drinking party after work was chaotic. The ending scene had me screaming "WHAT HAPPENED?!" This show's cliffhangers are cruel.
Lucy's wardrobe malfunction had me dying of secondhand embarrassment 😳 The entire office slowly figuring out what's wrong without saying anything was comedy gold. Hasebe being the one to help her out was unexpected. The bookstore scene was sweet too. This show keeps delivering.
Saya getting trapped by Mrs. Tanaka every single time is too real 😅 The cucumber "gift" scene had me wheezing. Chihaya being completely emotionless is weirdly endearing. Hasebe's casual insults toward everyone are already my favorite running gag. Another solid episode.
The first episode had me laughing right away 😂 The office setting is fun and colorful. Hasebe being a lazy slacker is hilarious. Lucy's rage every time someone says her full name is gold. The vibe is like Working!! but with civil servants. Already loving this cast.
Well tapi tetap seru, 8/10 series
As a finale, it doesn't give you a massive explosion or a neat Hollywood ending—and that's why it works. It leaves the characters exactly where they belong: working hard, leaning on each other, and preparing to face the public again tomorrow. It’s a beautiful tribute to the mundane, essential workers of the world.
The anxiety leading up to a company-wide drinking event is perfectly portrayed. You spent all week staring at these people; the last thing you want to do is spend your Friday evening sitting next to them in a cramped restaurant.
