Lain is just like us, terminally online. The idea of feeding on endless internet content one scroll at a time to escape real pain, dopamine hit after dopamine hit, living online until the body feels optional - and inner thoughts and feelings pile up unprocessed. This show knew.

Didn’t expect this to hit emotionally but it does. It’s quiet, almost too quiet, but that’s what makes it land. You’re not spoon-fed anything, which might annoy some, but it works 🥲

the episode was a trip. the way lain confronted eiri while trying to hold onto her sense of self? the visuals during their conversation were wild. alice standing by her even when everything got weird? that's loyalty. the reset sequence was both beautiful and terrifying. 🌌
