You can really feel that the mission was never meant for them to survive. The fights were chaotic and brutal, but what shocked me more was the realization that something deeper was wrong. It’s not just demons anymore, and that twist made it even darker. The tense is start to end.

Tsav is crazy but in a good way, I'm glad he is on Xylo's side. It seems like the production value is much better this ep because the animation and backgrounds look amazing. To hell with these human bandwagoners! The squad is finally starting to feel like a real threat.

Tsav's backstory is a little bit cold and tragic for his character. The cooperation between Xylo and Kivia is slowly building up to success in defending the fortress. The hero's unit is doing its best to succeed in its mission!

Some good old twist and return of fast paced actions saves this episode. Pacing for the second half is great. Still find the delusion and confidence of Norgalle to be hilarious. Can feel the storyline revealing some dark shades. Here for it! Weird and creepy creature design.

An interesting character introduction, the story flow and character background are explained well. Even though the pace is a bit slow, it’s still engaging with a bit of comedy from the new character.

Another rough situation for Xylo and a character introduction. Not much into it since it's a rather another chaotic one. These guys really can’t catch a break as well. The twist at the end caught me off guard and made the story even more interesting. Can't wait for it to unfold.

The Penal Unit finally syncing up was hype. The retreat scene pulsed with heavy beats, and Studio KAI’s environmental art gave the chaos a grounded, lived-in feel.

Seeing the Penal Unit actually work together was hype. The OST finally kicked in with some heavy beats during the retreat. Studio KAI’s background art is carryin'.

This episode feels a bit slower, but still true to the plot, as it builds up the next arcs and story beats. The next episode will probably be more intense and plot heavy.

Great episode. The subtle introduction of Pelmerry sticks out to me though. Her character design is immaculate and really eye-catching. It feels like she may become a key player in the story later on.

The addition of Tsav was a great decision; his character is so intriguing, as he feels like the embodiment of what people think 'heroes' are; cruel criminals. What makes him interesting is his honesty with himself and complete contrast with Xylo.

It continues to amaze me how Norgalle can just rile up a crowd. Such an interesting character. Xylo's reaction to mentions of names is a great tool for building anticipation for future plot points. The cliffhanger at the end also gets your energy up!

Perfectly structured episode. The tension, progression of events, and lore drops were all balanced, as well as the fight scenes and fluid animation. The cliffhanger at the end makes you anticipate the next episode more.

The introduction of new characters are well-placed in this episode. And the dialogue is top-tier too, nice balance of Teoritta's comedic monologues and the darker themes with Venetim.

VENETIM WAS RIGHT THIS WHOLE TIME??? The man was out here dropping conspiracy theories over festival food and everyone was side-eyeing him and now HIS ARTICLE IS CONFIRMED IN FIVE EPISODES.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 5 marks the transition from the relative calm of Episode 4's city festival into the season's first major siege arc, landing right at the midpoint of the 12-episode run. This is part one of a two-parter, with Episode 6 picking up the defense of Mureed Fortress as the threat escalates. It signals a clear tonal shift for the back half of the season, moving from character establishment into sustained, high-stakes conflict.
