Episode 8 of The World's Strongest Rearguard is a modest improvement. The floor boss battle gives the episode a clear direction, and Arihito's Rearguard abilities finally feel useful. The animation is still weak, and the writing is still shallow, but the episode is more engaging than most of what came before. If you're invested in the dungeon crawl, this episode delivers.
