Episode 6 of The World's Strongest Rearguard is a modest improvement. The quest structure gives the episode a clear direction, Lana adds some fresh energy to the cast, and Arihito's Rearguard abilities finally feel useful. The animation is still weak, and the writing is still shallow, but the episode is more engaging than most of what came before. If you're looking for a generic fantasy adventure to pass the time, this works.
