Episode 5 of The World's Strongest Rearguard is a slight improvement. The Fourth District gives the show a new environment to explore, Theresia's quest provides emotional stakes, and the party finally has a clear goal. The animation is still weak, and the writing is still shallow, but the episode is more engaging than the last few. If you've been invested in Theresia's story, this episode delivers.
