Episode 12 is the strongest episode of The World's Strongest Rearguard. The Shrieking Woods arc reaches a satisfying conclusion, Theresia's character arc pays off, and Arihito's Rearguard class finally gets the showcase it deserved. The animation is still average, and the writing still has its shallow moments, but the emotional beats land and the action is more engaging than ever. If the series gets a second season, this is a promising foundation. If not, it's a decent ending to a flawed but occasionally enjoyable ride.
