Riko trying to keep her composure while Noma gets handsy for the investigation was the highlight and it shows exactly what kind of series this is going to be

My interest peaked when they realized the neighbors were listening because that forced intimacy dynamic is my favorite trope even if the actual art quality is kind of lacking in this first episode

The tension when the criminals were listening at the wall was actually pretty effective, and Noma making Riko vocalize to save their skin was a bold way to start the series

The animation is a bit stiff and the story about them pretending to be newlyweds feels like something you have seen a dozen times before but it gets the job done for this kind of show

I think that scene where Noma has to touch Riko just to stay undercover was so intense and it really set the tone for how this mission is going to go down

The whole scenario with the criminals being suspicious about them not being active at night was such a good way to force their hand and it was fun watching the senior officer lose her cool so fast when the mission got intimate and the animation actually looked pretty decent for such a short episode length especially during the close shots

Noma taking charge because of the mission was a total power move, and watching Riko struggle to keep a straight face made the whole scene.

The tension when the criminals were listening through the wall was intense and the way Noma used that to justify getting closer to Riko was smart

Riko trying to maintain her authority while Noma was doing his job was everything I wanted from this first episode

It felt like they skipped a lot of the build from the webtoon, and the animation quality in the bedroom scenes was kind of choppy for a premiere.

Trying to fool the criminals by making those sounds while Noma actually got handsy was a great way to start the show

The episode was way too short and barely got through the setup before it ended but seeing them panic over the neighbors listening in was a funny touch

I did not expect Riko to cave that fast when Noma started touching her but the mission excuse made it work
professor_sycamore_332's avatar

I think the censored version ruins the whole point of this adaptation and the short runtime makes the transition into the physical stuff feel a bit rushed

The junior agent really didn't hesitate when he had to fake those sounds and it was funny how fast Riko stopped complaining about it

Watching Noma struggle with his loyalty to Riko versus the physical things he had to do for the investigation made his character way more interesting than I expected

I came for the plot but the chemistry between Riko and Noma actually caught me off guard because you can tell they both care about the mission but are also totally flustered. Seeing them have to fake those sounds just to keep the criminals from breaking down their door was such a stressful way to start the first episode and seeing them scramble to hide their embarrassment was great.

It is wild that they had to start that whole routine just because the guys in the next apartment were listening through the thin walls and questioning their marriage

Riko trying to stay professional while her junior partner is all over her to fool the suspects was actually intense and the physical tension felt real

I was surprised by how flustered Noma got before he had to start making noise for the neighbors because his face turned a deep shade of red and I could feel his panic

EPISODE CONTEXT

As Episode 1 of 8, this is pure foundation — nothing precedes it, and everything that follows depends on what gets established here. Riko and Noma's dynamic, the mission parameters, and the central tension of maintaining cover are all seeded in this episode. The remaining seven episodes will build directly on these introductions, deepening the stakes of their undercover assignment.
