The first episode of this amazing old-school comedy starts off slow, but you'll still be giggling throughout. Expect lots of visual gags, puns, and cringe moments. Animation quality is inconsistent, but with a very charming style. A must-watch for high school romance fans.

As episode one of twenty-six, this premiere exists purely to plant flags. Tenma's fixation on Karasuma and Harima's hopeless crush on Tenma form the central love triangle that drives the entire season. Nothing is resolved here by design; the episode's purpose is to establish the comedic engine of mutual obliviousness and romantic chaos that will escalate across the full run. Every misunderstanding introduced here becomes a recurring pattern the series will gleefully exploit and complicate.
