Saito and Kenshin crossing paths in the village was the link-up I needed. Shishio’s silhouette in the shadows is intimidating as hell. You can tell the animation budget went up for the lighting in the meeting hall. The tension is thick enough to cut.

Now it starts cooking for real. The enemy side gets more presence and you can feel the danger level rising. I liked how it builds fear without needing nonstop fighting. It’s like the storm is getting closer every minute
